7-Eleven Stores appoints non-executive director

The company says its appointment of Marina Go builds on a range of recent high-calibre board and executive appointments.

“Ms Go’s extensive experience across digital and traditional media, retail and franchising, compliance and governance, and driving change and transformation, along with her visionary leadership, adds greatly to the strength and diversity of 7-Eleven’s Board,” 7-Eleven Stores Chairman Michael Smith said.

“With the business pursuing a significant growth and transformation strategy, Marina’s remarkable career and insights will significantly enhance the Board’s contribution.

“Further, as we seek to deepen our understanding of the many cultures within our business and franchise network, Marina’s unique perspective will propel our journey.”

Ms Go is Chair of the Wests Tigers NRL Club and Office Brands, Australia’s largest independent business-suppliers group. She is a non-executive director of EnergyAustralia, Autosports Group, the Walkley Foundation and Chair of the Advisory Board for the Centre for Media Transition at The University of Technology Sydney and has previously served on sporting, cultural, retail and not-for-profit boards. She is also on the advisory boards of the Australian Republic Movement and Background, an innovative marketing-agency start-up.

Author of the business book for women, Break Through: 20 Success Strategies for Female Leaders, Ms Go was named as one of 20 True Leaders of 2016 by Boss Magazine. Her executive roles include General Manager Australia of leading multiplatform media publisher Hearst Media, Chief Executive of digital-media company Private Media, and Group Publishing Director of Independent Digital Media. She has an MBA from The Australian Graduate School of Management.
