OTR appoints Warren Wilmot as first CEO

The On the Run (OTR) convenience retail chain has appointed Warren Wilmot as its first CEO.

OTR describes Mr Wilmot as an “experienced retail executive”. Most recently, he was Chief Executive of the 7-Eleven group in Australia for 13 years. Before that, he spent more than 10 years in various management roles with the Pizza Hut Group.

Mr Wilmot said: “It’s a privilege to join such a strong and innovative company with a proud South Australian history of investment and providing employment to the community.

“I look forward to building on this success with the broader OTR team and making life easier for customers by providing high-quality service, food offers and convenience, together with new levels of innovation and ways to engage with our brand.”

‘Experience and enthusiasm’

The appointment creates a new role for OTR, which is part of the SA-owned Peregrine Corporation.

“OTR has grown significantly over the past 20 years,” Peregrine Executive Chair Yasser Shahin said. “The timing is right to appoint a leader and executive team dedicated specifically to OTR’s expanding operations.

“Warren brings the perfect mix of experience and enthusiasm to help us take the business to another level.”

Mr Shahin will remain as Executive Chair of Peregrine Corporation. He’ll focus on OTR’s growth and development program, together with Peregrine’s Wholesale Fuel and Construction divisions.
