Weekly petrol prices

The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia rose 1.2¢ to 152.2¢ a litre nationally in the week ending September 16, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.

The average national weekly metropolitan retail price rose 0.9¢ to 152¢ a litre, with the regional price also rising 1.5¢ to 152.4¢ a litre.

The most expensive unleaded in the country was in the NT at 162.9¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (159.3¢), Queensland (158.1¢), SA (151.6¢), Victoria (150.7¢), NSW/ACT (149.8¢) and WA (146.6¢).

Of the major cities, Perth offered the cheapest unleaded for the week at 147.8¢ a litre, followed by Sydney (148.5¢), Melbourne (151¢), Adelaide (152¢), Darwin (154.6¢), Canberra (155.3¢), Hobart (159.6¢) and Brisbane (159.8¢).
